‘Bayang Kaki Limo’ offers a portrait of a traditional market, a place of people with sincere hearts and no pretenses. At the heart of the story is Amak, a middle-aged woman who sells vegetables and believes that whatever is on the surface also reflects what is inside. Despite warnings from her friend about the hypocrisy around her, she remains unmoved by others’ pretenses.

But when betrayal comes from those closest to her, Amak is forced to confront the painful truth: that those dearest to her can destroy her belief in the goodness of people’s hearts.
